More updates.
I have started taking one child out each month for one on one time. By the fourth time I did this, I finally decided it'd be nice to document my dates with a picture. I'm thinking it will help in those times I'm feeling like a horrible mother--I can have some "proof" that I did something nice for my kids :))
I took Middle Sis. to ColdStone Creamery. It was her first time there. She got a "Love it" size of some chocolatey concoction. I had to laugh when she started eating it and was very impressed with said concoction. "Mom! They are right! It IS a Love it!"
The kids and I got to go visit my sister in September. We had so much fun! When we first got there, my sister told my boys, "You can go play the Xbox if you want....Make yourself at home!"
My boys just stood there and kind of looked at me. I said, "Uh...they aren't allowed to play the Xbox at my house....."
My Sis responded, "Well, then....make yourself on vacation!" Lol! That's all it took. They had a great time playing and hanging out and had so much fun that they actually left me alone a lot as well--so I was able to relax and enjoy myself as well!
Fun having the neighborhood pool all to ourselves one afternoon!
Little cousins at the pool's edge!
Took a drive out to one of the many lakes around town. Built a fire and made scrumptious Smores! Yum!
Baby Sis was pretty scared of the dogs our first day there. She screamed any time they came around her. Thankfully, she calmed down and ended up totally loving them.
On our last day there, Baby Sis was totally following Bella around and copying everything she did. It was adorable!
The main reason we went to visit my Sis. was so I could run a half marathon with her. We decided to take the stress off and just run/walk it and have fun. It was a great course, very pretty along the river walk especially. It was also unique because it was a See Jane Run event which is primarily for women. Men could run if they wanted (and we did see some running along with a female companion) but there were no prizes for men. This race was all about empowering women and supporting them no matter their size or speed! Oh....and it also helped that we got cute shirts and that there were chocolates waiting for us after the finish line! Haha
Stopping somewhere along mile 13 for a photo! (Witchita has some really pretty scenery!)
