B-days

Last week two of my sweeties celebrated birthdays!

I had hung a few signs up for Little Bro's b-day (which happens to be one day before Baby Sis')...one of them was a '7'.  Let me back up and say that there was much talk all week about the upcoming birthdays and age changes.   Baby Sis began saying she was "3" several days before her actual birthday (which her siblings tried to correct, but were answered with a LOUD and determined shriek that she was, indeed "3", so they backed off...Lol).

Anyhow, Baby Sis took her time waking up that morning, but when she saw the signs up she said, "Where my free (three)?"   So, I got a piece of paper, wrote a huge fre...three on it and Baby Sis happily colored away.   Then I hung it up right next to Little Bro's '7'.  By this time, Baby Sis. was awake and ready to party.  She started dancing around and singing, "We gonna parrrr-tay....we gonna parrrr-tay...".   (Ah, the things youngest siblings get to learn!)

The Dad and I took the birthday kiddos to dinner that night.  We had fun going out with just the two of them.  They were very well behaved and had a great time.  They thought it was SO great that there were TVs up on the wall!   Sports/basketball was on at the time and at one point Baby Sis pointed to the TV and said, "Abraska!".   It wasn't really Nebraska, but I think ever since football season, she relates any sport to NE. lol

Little Bro. ate his age in chicken strips and started to feel a little sick...Lol...we waited it out and he came through like a champ.  He was even able to enjoy his ice cream cone before we left.  (not our first child to overdo it at a buffet :))

After dinner, we took them to Target and they each picked out a toy to get with their birthday money.  Baby Sis walked down the aisles, pointing at each thing and saying, "I want that...I want that....I want that....etc."   But didn't really insist on anything or pick anything up!  I think she is so used to looking at the toys but not actually getting to keep any...Lol.   So, eventually, she got to something she could afford and I was okay with, so I told her she could take it and had to tell her she really could keep it and buy it.   Haha...

Little Bro. just wanted a DS game...I didn't want to let him get a video game...but it was the only thing he was going to get and I finally decided I'd rather have him get something he wants and will play with than a toy that will end up sitting around collecting dust.

They each got their own cakes on their special days.  Little Bro. wanted a "candy cake" and Baby Sis was happy with "Pink" and flowers.

A fun weekend to celebrate.  Also kind of bittersweet as my sweet little ones turn another year older!
