I have to say I was totally surprised when Evan took first place at his cub scout Pinewood Derby this past Saturday! It was only our second experience with it. Last year, we didn't do much to the car and it didn't do that great (but was still fun:-). This year, Evan named his car "Fireball". Evan does not usually like to draw or color, so I was pleasantly surprised that he painted the word 'Fireball' on the top of his car in red and orange-flame shaped letters.
Anyhow, Evan helped Dana cut the shape of his car (thanks to good friends who let us borrow some tools!) and painted it himself. Then, Dana added weight to the back and used graphite on the wheels/axels (things provided to anyone interested at the car weigh-in) . Nothing calculated or anything, just having fun. But apparently it worked out pretty well for Evan!
My little cuties! Good thing Alex is around to play photographer!
I cannot get over Michaela's sense of style! She went through a phase of wearing only underwear for a while. Now we are back to changing clothes many times a day and the less they go together, the better!
My three sons!
I really feel so blessed to have been entrusted with such great children!

So Cute!!! Congratulations Evan! That's awesome!
Most artistic! Nice work Evan!
Michaela looks like she's having a great time - meanwhile looking fabulous!
Make sure you keep the pictures of Michaela. You'll need them as evicence of her silliness when she grows up to become a serious young woman.
