It's hard to believe my little Stephan is two years old now! He is such a sweet little guy! We are SO blessed to have him in our family! Please don't feel bad for him because he had an ugly birthday cake. It really did taste good!
(I have made this same chocolate cake recipe many times, but for some reason this one decided not to cook all the way in the middle. And, for another strange reason, I decided not to test the middle when I took the cake out--something most normal people do. I don't think being 36 weeks pregnant agrees with my baking abilities.)
My solution? Cut the middle out and arrange the other pieces in some creative shape --hopefully making it look like I did it on purpose. Really....it did taste good.....
A couple of fun gifts for our little one! Aunt Kara, Uncle Kim, and Justin (his two year-old cousin) came over also and made Stephan's day with a Thomas the train set! Michaela loved it so much that she thanked them for giving it to her! :-)

Oh yeah, I think the cake looks good. Speaking as a person who always has a cake fiasco at birthday time! And I don't have the excuse of being pregnant!
