April so far

The field trips continued last week as I took the younger four to the Fire Station! It is the biggest station in our city and included a small museum and 3 golden sliding poles!   There were a bunch of different trucks/engines...like a rehabilitation vehicle, one specifically for grass fires, one specifically for under water emergencies, and even bikes that they have to use on Football Saturdays.  They took their time, answered everyone's questions, made us laugh, and taught the kids! I thought we'd be in and out in an hour, but we were there for 2 hours!

The very next day was Big Sis's Birthday!   She requested a trip to the zoo...how could I say no to that?  A Birthday outing as well as educational field trip!

It was a cold, windy, and rainy day, but there are so many great indoor exhibits that we went anyway!  It was great! We had many exhibits to ourselves and enjoyed seeing quite a few animal babies and a feeding time before we left.

Next we went to Grandma and Grandpa's place for dinner and cake (we missed you though Grandpa)!   Just a little chocolate, chocolate chip cheesecake recipe that I threw together the night before (and prayed it would taste good since I had never made it before)!  We had whipping cream and strawberries to go on top too!   Mmmmhmmmm--it was good!

Lots of fun, busy times!   And the month is not even over yet!
