Vacation!
We just returned from an awesome trip to Florida! It was SO nice to get away and spend time together having fun and RELAXING in the sun! I have a bunch of pictures and not a bunch of time, so here are some pics from our first day!
We checked in to our resort on Sunday evening. Thanks to my awesome parents for letting us use their timeshare! We had a really nice villa that could sleep up to 10 people. It had two bedrooms, a loft, two bathrooms, a full kitchen and laundry, 4 televisions, a jacuzzi tub, and a nice screened in patio. After dinner, we relaxed and unpacked a bit. The next Morning, I did some grocery shopping for the week and we picked up some of our park tickets.
That afternoon, we headed an hour east to Cocoa Beach.
If you travel to Florida, get ready for the toll roads! We drove through 4 toll booths on the way to the beach. I think it added up to $3.50 each way. The drive was nice and we ended up finding a place to park that was free and not crowded at all! There was also a space on the beach that was set up for a wedding--which you can see in the back of the above picture. (We were actually at our spot on the beach through the whole wedding! I hope we weren't too distracting.... but they seemed to have a nice ceremony anyway).
I loved that the kids just started playing like this was not their first time at the beach. I am SO glad I got a few shovels and pails before we came! The little ones sat for quite a long time just playing in the sand! (a bit of advice...dollar store shovels and pails were not made to shovel REAL beach sand! Look for something a bit sturdier.)
Everyone helped with the sand castles above. Below you can see the girls playing in the sand while the rest of the family has fun trying to ride the waves. The Dad was showing the kids how to wait for a big wave and then jump up and ride the wave in toward the shore. They had a blast!
It was a great first day in Florida! Stayed tuned for more of our adventure!

How fun!!! I am so glad you guys got to get away all together. The beach is the best time with family!
What a fun trip! They will always remember that time. My grandparents lived in Cocoa Beach for their retirement years, after a couple of missions and my mom is from Daytona Beach. I haven't been back in years.
