Real field trip

We are blessed in that our city has a great homeschooling group. A wonderful member of that group recently organized a field trip to the wind turbines here. There were so many families interested that she ended up contracting with a bus company and arranged for it to meet us and transport to and from the wind turbine site.

Not every homeschooled child gets to ride a school bus, so I made my kids pose in front of the bus for a picture.

It was such a beautiful day! The tour leaders had laid out (using flags and spray paint like the kind they use in people's yards) a full size turbine on the grassy field nearby. We walked along it and talked about the different parts so the kids could get an idea of how big it really was and what it was made of. Our group had some great questions from kids and parents alike. It made for a great learning experience.

On the homefront, Adi is cracking us up more and more. She is starting to speak more and has recently entered the not-so-fun-phase of taking her own diaper off....whenever she wants. The other day I walked back to the bathroom and she was standing on the footstool, in front of the sink, totally naked, holding a toothbrush. It was so funny that I ran to get the camera. When she saw me taking pictures, she smiled and said, "Sheese!"
Too funny!
