Fun and not a lot of candy

For a while I thought it might be fun for the kids to have a tire swing hanging from the big tree on the side of our house. However, I later found out that our lease says we can't do that. I was glad I never mentioned it to them.

So, a month or two ago, I was very amused to find that my kids had taken matters into their own hands:

Why use a tire when you can use a pogo-stick?

They also wedged that giant branch up in the tree so they could climb up into the tree and put even more toys up there.
I am sure our neighbors loved the curb appeal of a pogo stick hanging from a tree--by a purple and pink jump rope no less!
I love this pic. of Michaela waiting impatiently for her turn...

A NOTE on Halloween:

I don't have any Halloween pictures to post because my life is the kind of life where you do things like lose the memory card from your camera the day after Halloween. (But you console yourself that at least your children are alive and healthy and having fun making your yard look pretty).

Our church had a trunk or treat, chili dinner, and games on Saturday and that's all we did. We were even late for the trunk or treat so my kids didn't get much candy. At first I felt bad, but then realized it was actually a good thing that they wouldn't have as much junk to eat. They were great about it too.

Back to the memory card...Actually, I had dropped it in the trash. After I recovered it, I set it on the counter. All this took hours to occur because I was very distracted with other stuff. We had been sick all week prior to Halloween, so I spent Friday and Saturday helping get costumes together, cooking treats for our church party on Saturday, trying to catch up on a bunch of neglected housework, and worrying about when I would get time to study for my chemistry test the next week.

Later that day I went into the kitchen and it was gone! I think my two year old walked off with it so I am not sure if I will see it again. Try asking a two year old where they put "the memory card"!

I did have a few Halloween pictures on it, not too many though. The kids dressed up as some Pokemon Trainers, Tinker Bell, and a cave girl. Adi just wore some cute Halloween-ish clothes and a little pointy black hat I found with little black ribbons hanging down each side--kinda looked like hair. She looked like a little troll or something. It was too cute!

It was so good to see you last week. Your family is so sweet and fun. A pogo stick!!!! I love it.

I didn't know that you were going to school. That is really awesome. What is your final goal?

Haha! Reminds me of when we were kids - using our imagination with whatever we could get our hands on! Don't worry about the memory card; it'll turn up in a few years when you buy a new camera that takes a different size card.
