I don't know why she swallowed a fly....

Warning: If you read this funny story, you are also agreeing that you will not tell Dallin I told you this! I just have to share because it is SO CUTE!

A week or so ago, at dinner, Dallin asked Dana what diseases flies carried. (I don't know where this came from.) Dana told him of two different diseases flies could carry. I don't remember what they were, but he did tell him that one of them makes the heart enlarge. Lovely dinner conversation!

Today, Dallin was in the basement and I heard him crying. Really crying. I asked what was wrong and he immediately stopped crying and said, "Nothing. Nothing's wrong". Then he started crying again. This time I had him come to me and I pulled him on my lap and asked him to tell me what was wrong. He first said everyone had to leave the room so they wouldn't hear.

Then he reminded me of the "fly disease" conversation. He also reminded me that we ate rice that night. Well, he had seen a fly in our kitchen that day and for some reason became totally scared that he had accidentally eaten the fly--with his rice-- and therefore was going to get a disease.

I also have to tell you that for the past couple of days he has been walking around with his hand on his stomach and complaining of a stomachache on and off. I also saw him looking at his stomach, and sucking it in until his ribs stuck out. I had no idea why until today. It turns out, he kept checking his chest because he was afraid his heart was going to get larger from the fly disease!

Poor, sweet, boy! I loved his look of relief when I explained (the best I could) why he did not have a disease and he was fine! He had been living with that fear for a while, keeping it to himself! He was so happy the rest of the day!
