We are slowly getting settled (emphasis on slowly). I feel kind of in limbo while we wait for some construction to be done. Among other things, we are planning on building a couple of rooms in the basement for the older kids to sleep in, but are waiting on an egress window that should be going in next week. Until then, everyone has been sleeping on floors, couches, and cots. All the girls are in one room and the boys either camp out in the basement on mattresses on the floor, or stay in the living room.
This past week, I tried to unpack what I could, and did a bit of cleaning up outside. Big Sis helped me when I decided to wash the siding. I don't know how one is supposed to wash siding, but it is white and was pretty dirty. Can you see the difference?

A worker guy dug the hole yesterday for the egress window. The kids couldn't resist getting inside it & I couldn't resist taking a picture of them in it!
Two of our new neighbors are in there as well. Our new neighbors have 3 kids and are as nice as can be. They are the only other kids on the street and my kids love them!
The other day I saw their 12 year old son showing Little Sis how to hold a bat and then proceeded to pitch to her. So sweet!
Yesterday, there was an electrician here, the hole-digger, the contractor who is coordinating everything, and a plumber finding the source of a leak from our bathroom. Also, my friend came over to talk about homeschooling plans for next year...
It can get overwhelming and not fun, but it is also
nice to know this place is ours and, hopefully, things
will get better as we make this home our own!

How fun! It is so great to own your house, but it comes with lots of headaches! Hope things get moving along for you so you can "officially" get situated!
Yep, lots of headaches. But also lots of blessings in having a place that you can truly call your own.
I'm so happy for you! Enjoy!
Okay its really Amanda. I forgot to log out of David's.
Thank you for your comment on my blog the other day. Sorry it has taken until now to say it. The weekend was kind of nuts!
I really appreciate the concern you have for me and my family. It's nice to know that even strangers care.
I wish you all the best with your nursing degree. Fun to see you have a new home! (Be careful, they can be money pits ;))
And SEVEN kids! WOW! You are my hero!
