Update

Well, it has been a busy time since my last post.  Here is a quick look at why I haven't been blogging lately:

-Middle Sis. turned 8!  We also let her have a 'friend' party.  She wanted to have an Easter themed party.  We had 5 sweet girls over and made sock bunnies, had an Easter egg hunt, decorated cupcakes, and ate pizza for lunch.

In our family/religion, 8 is an extra special age because then the child is old enough to be  Baptized
It was quite a challenge to find a date that worked and I ended up with only one week to plan the whole thing!  Thank goodness for family stepping in to help where needed!   It was a small gathering, but so special!  Big Sis. played the piano, Aunt Kara and myself gave talks, and Grandpa baptized her.  Middle Sis. was so happy and really felt the love of her family and Heavenly Father for her!  She was so excited to receive her own set of scriptures and a journal.  She takes them with her to church every Sunday in a cute bag made by Aunt Kelley!

-Big Sis. turned 16!   Another big birthday!   I can hardly believe my first born is so grown up!  It worked out that she spent her birthday going to a Temple Open House in Kansas City with the other youth from church.  She will also be having a fun party soon with lots of girls and a mall and ice cream cake!
(In case you were wondering....no driver's license yet.  It has been so hard to find time to take her out driving.  She needs a bit more practice still.  Thank goodness she understands and doesn't hate me for taking so long with this!)

-Planning our first big family vacation!  Hmmm...I'm not pregnant, no nursing babies, we are finally free from credit card debt.....seems (to me) like it is high time we go on a real family vacation!   We are heading to Orlando where we will stay at a super nice resort.  Just have to say THANKS to my parents for letting use their timeshare (if not for that, I'm sure our destination would have been quite different)!

-Easter!  Had fun Easter treats on Saturday and had a great visit with family on Sunday!

-Trying to buy a house! We are in the middle of the process right now, so I am not saying we have bought a home until the last paper is signed and it is official.  There is still some rehab and paperwork and such that all needs to work out...so if all goes well, there will be a lot more for me to blog about in the not too distant future!

Of course, all of these events were in addition to the already busy schedule that comes from having seven children and homeschooling....!   Ahhh...life is certainly a crazy ride!

Wow, 8 and 16. That will be us next year with Carson and Lucy. I still have a little less than a year and a half so I won't go there now. Way exciting though!! Your awesome!
