The 4-year old

Stephan on basketball:
"Ben, are YOU in the game?"
"I'M in the game!"
"I'm in the GAME!
Stephan on physiology:
"Mom, where does food go? I know where it goes! The food goes into the bottom (pointing to the lower half of his body) and the water and cocoa go into the top!"
Stephan on names:
(Crying)"MOMMM! Michaela was talking to the baaaabbbby and....and...SHE CALLED HER ALIYYYYAAAAHHHH....and THAT NOT HER NAAAAAAMMMME!"

More on names:

Steph: "Mom, what your name?"
Me: "Uh....Kori?"
Steph: "No it not! It 'Mom'!"

Conversing with Stephan:

S: "Mom, did you go to the hospital?"
Me: "Uh, yes...."
S: "Oh."

S: "Mom, did you WALK to the hospital?" (makes little walking motions w/ his hands and feet)
Me: "No."
S: "Oh."

S: "Mom, did you DRIVE to the hospital?"
Me: "Yes"
S: "Oh."

S: "And did you eat FRENCH FRIES at the hospital?" (Stephan has a fond memory of coming w/ Dana to pick me up at the hospital and getting to finish the french fries that came with my lunch)
Me: "Yes."
S: "OH! I LOVE FRENCH FRIES!!"

S: "And...and... did you have KETCHUP at the hospital?"
Me: "Yep"
S: "OH! I LOVE KETCHUP!"

I think the boy could have gone on and on with this stimulating conversation, but I had to stop him so we could have our Family night. Too, too cute!!!

I love hearing things that kids say. It's so fun to witness their little minds working to think things through!
