The big 12 (and I'm not talking football...)

With all the craziness of a new baby in the house, I forgot (shame on me) to blog about my first born turning 12!

Alex had her 12th birthday last week and went to her first Y.W. activity (church youth group). My little baby....sniff, sniff..... The only way I don't cry is to remember that she will be able to babysit!

She really wanted to get her ears pierced. But first she had work to do to convince her dad to okay that idea.

First of all, she saved her own money for it. Then, about a week or two before her birthday, she became very helpful and polite. (She is always very helpful and polite, by the way, but I could tell she turned it up a notch) She also came up with a plan (upon her dad's request) to pratice piano when she is supposed to without complaining AND she also called the store herself to ask how much it would cost. All of her hard work paid off and I took her to get them pierced on her b-day.

I couldn't ask for a better first child. She is such a great help to me. For anyone who wonders, "I don't know how you do it with six children!"....Alex is how I do it! Thanks for being so great, Alex! We love you!
